Who doesn't dream of having their very own pool in their back yard? Yet often, this dream is not realized–whether it's due to yard size or funds. But that is certainly not the case with this inspiring project from the Argentinian architects of CC Arquitectos.

In this special before and after feature we are going to show you the little wonder that these architects have put together by simply converting a small inner courtyard into a charming pool with a quaint surrounding garden. This renovation not only made it so the residents of this home could relax around the pool during those unbearably hot summer months, but also offers enough space for children to frolic around.

So without further ado, let's check out this fabulous project!

Before: A bleak picture

This is how the garden looked before our professionals got their hands on it–a small, somewhat sad looking lawn surrounded by a yellow wall and grey lawn tiles. This would have perhaps been enough to enjoy the fresh air, but these homeowners wanted to enjoy their property and the warm weather to the fullest extent of their abilities.

In order to bring this transformation to fruition, the architects had to take drastic measures and demolish part of the foundation. After the demolition, there would be enough space to build the pool.

The project

Here is the blueprint of the planned project. We can see from this image that the small corner of the foundation is no longer in the picture. Covering a length of 5x3 metres and covered by shade for half of the day, this project planned to offer the coolest oasis possible.

The walls surrounding the pool were to be planted with tall leafy grasses and decorative vines. And to top it off and make things even more luxurious, a small waterfall will be implemented, creating an appropriate tropical atmosphere.

Around the pool: plant design

The modern planting around the pool includes vines alongside the yellow wall. These attribute an extremely natural atmosphere to the pool area and hides the concrete structure quite well.

The rest of the garden stretches out with lush greenery and offers a variety of fruits and vegetables to harvest., and colourful buds and flowers contribute a good contrast to the space. And thus, the perfect mixture of open green land and idyllic scenery was developed.

After: a shady oasis

This magnificent result has to convince even the greatest pool hater! The mixture of stone border and creme-coloured tiles and plants that slowly grow up the wall turns the garden into the perfect shady oasis.

All the components form a harmonic dialogue and decorate the garden with a fabulous freshness and vitality.

Massaging features and fitting decor

Everyone knows that a pool is a great luxury item. However, the architects outdid themselves and delivered an exciting mixture of natural raw materials like stone and plants. Together, this results in a combination of retro lighting and light tiles for the ideal summer spot.
