The small cottage that is going to be at the centre of attraction today is designed by architect Luke Lewandowski and interior designer Marty Sobieszek. Set in a peaceful neighbourhood, the very façade of the house is remarkable enough to draw immediate attention. It is not a regular country style cottage set in the vast and scenic pasture of Poland, but a modern house oozing glamour and style.

The house is located in Gorzów Wielkopolski, a vibrant city of western Poland. The city is replete with historical edifices. But modern dwellings like these undoubtedly show that the city is prepared to give contemporary architecture and design in a hearty embrace. Let’s begin our trip to this tranquil part of the city…

Contemporary cottage with a refined style

The dark grey façade decked up in graphite plates and light graphite plaster is a clear deviation from the red brick houses of the neighbourhood. The house stands on a small plot and is surrounded by a tiny landscaped garden.

The architect Luke Lewandowski has made sure that the dwelling becomes a constant source of pleasure and comfort for the owners, so he opted for a design that combines functionality with fashion.

The contrast between dark and light grey helps to increase the dramatic nature of the structure. You can consider it to be a chiaroscuro in architecture.

Façade design and garage

The building is not planned based on any pre-finished designs. It is customised according to the tastes and requirements of its would be inhabitants. Though connected with each other, the spacious garage occupying a focal position creates a zone which is slightly aloof from the main dwelling.

The cubic block emphasises contemporary designer’s obsession with straight lines, clean and clear forms. A longitudinal bathroom with sauna is designed behind the garage. Expectedly, they can be accessed from within the building, but not from inside the garage.

Wooden deck

The wooden deck built on the back of the building provides a space to organise small family gatherings. All it needs a couple of deck chair to recline on and enjoy the warmth of the sunshine in the daytime. It can be decorated with a fashionable dining table and a couple of lightweight chairs too.

Enjoying a cup of tea early in the morning in a space like this would surely prove to be a cherishable experience for the owners.

Tranquil bedroom design

This expansive bedroom is decorated in such a way that feels at once dreamy and elegant. The hotel like interior with bathtubs occupying the same space, makes it look all the more luxurious. The view of the small garden can be enjoyed through the sliding glass doors. Of course, when in the need of privacy the long curtains can be drawn over the windows.

The room is decorated with a comfortable bed and modern chairs. The predominance of grey tone, as seen on the exterior, can be observed in this space as well.

Exterior of the house

The cheerful nature of the interior of the house reflects on its exterior as well. You can see the contrasting effects of dark grey and white in this area as well. The masterful design makes it a cosy home with lavish features and praiseworthy details.
