Yes, it's that time of the week again! Grab yourself a coffee, seat yourself comfortably, and get ready for our countdown of the most popular homify articles from the past seven days.

We've shown you a mixed bag this week – children's rooms, storage ideas, and strange Japanese houses were just a few of the varied subjects featured on our pages – but once again, the old favourites won out. Interesting kitchens, quirky homes, and stunning makeovers were, as always, exactly what you wanted to see, and our amazing professionals delivered.

But enough waffle – let's check out which articles made it to YOUR top five!

1. Eight charming kitchens

It's no secret that Malaysians love to cook, which is probably why so many of you were mesmerised by these eight incredible kitchens. Small but perfectly formed, this diverse selection covers modern, minimal, retro, Scandi and everything in between, proving that there is a perfect solution to even the trickiest kitchen problems.

This brown and beige beauty perfectly mixes retro and modern elements to create a functional and fun family kitchen. Not to your taste? Find one that is - check the rest of them out here!

2. A space-age concept home

Who wouldn't want to live in the most striking home on the block?

Modern homes are nothing new to us here at homify, but this one really knocked our socks off. Architect Masahiko Sawamura has taken his trademark style and applied to it a cutting edge residence. Nestled tightly between two properties, this high concept home features fascinating innovations in design that make no compromises on privacy, while still allowing the living area to be bathed in natural light.

With an aesthetic that continues and develops his Kaleidoscope series, Kaleidoscope IV features slitted windows, straight lines, and a unique approach to light that we think looks simply stunning.

What are you waiting for? Take a look!

3. A reboot of a revamp

You've seen it before, but you just couldn't get enough of it – even on the second time around! This Korean home was, in all honesty, a bit of a dump before the team at Light and Salt Design got their hands on it. Dark corners, dusty surfaces, and outdated furniture – we certainly wouldn't have wanted to live there.

But now? WOW. Take a look and see what the fuss is about…

4. Great garden fences

We all like our privacy, especially when we're sat in our gardens. However, it can be hard to know how to protect our patios from prying eyes without resorting to a monster brick wall. Wooden fences can be so uninspiring, leading to us giving up hope and abandoning our gardens altogether…

Stop right there! It doesn't have to be this way. Garden fences don't have to be a bore – just check out these 16 glorious examples that your neighbours will be dying to copy…

5. A tiny but terrific apartment

Sleek, shiny, and monochrome – it's impossible not to fall in love with this small but chic abode. The designers seem to have worked from a tick list of the hottest contemporary trends; Galley kitchen? Check. Chalkboard wall? Check. Clean Scandinavian lines? Check, check, CHECK!

We adored the muted white and grey colour palette, and couldn't get enough of the subtle blend of retro and modern furnishings. Go on, take a look – we're sure you'll be inspired to recreate this look in your own home.

That's all for this week! Remember to stay tuned to homify for more magical makeovers, inspiring tours and helpful home hacks. See you next Sunday!
