Minimalist homes are praised for their little ornamentation and free flow of space. It's hard to imagine how you could make such an atmosphere even more chill in this scenario. Unless, of course, you add a few more calming elements. With the power of Zen accessories, any home can be transformed into a serene oasis, yet when this style is added to minimalism, it brings the design scheme to a whole new level.

To give you an example of this type of composed ambience, we are looking at the finished product from the professionals at Mukoyama Architects. They've put together quite the tranquil home with barely any accessories at all.

Simple and calming

Upon first glance of the interior, we see a sea of white and wood–two of the most neutral and calming tones and materials you could implement in a home. The wooden furnishings like the coffee table and dresser to the side seem to come right from the floor itself, and the pure white sofa blends in seamlessly with the white walls, creating perfect harmony.

A closer look

These figures on the chest are symbolic of the meditative ideals of the Zen lifestyle. Paired with other accessories like scattered Bonsai trees, they really support harmony, peace, the order of thoughts, balance, and all that is good in nature.

A perfect view

When we turn around, we can see that this home comes complete with a balcony, which isn't just accessible through the living room. The sliding doors open up the portal to a quiet and tranquil outdoor area where residents can relax in the sunshine and admire the scenery. This space is completed with the addition of some of those plants, which helps to create a more organic atmosphere.

Dining

Past the living room, we find ourselves in the dining and kitchen area. These spaces are practically void of all accessories, excluding the plants. These unadorned areas establish a peaceful air and allow only the soft light trickling in to embellish the room.

Kitchen

Our kitchen consists mainly of a multi-purpose kitchen island. It's the perfect simple addition to keep things minimal while also making sure this room has complete and total functionality.

Changing spaces

Behind the kitchen, we have our pathway to the bedroom. But you'll notice something else remarkable here–the transition between spaces is used. Instead of a hallway that only offers storage options, this passageway gives us access to the bathroom. Pretty interesting solution when it comes to saving space.

A place to rest your head

At last, we take you down the hallway into the bedroom. As you can see, the giant bed is the protagonist of the room, making this space solely dedicated to rest, relaxation, and wellness. We can also see the extension of the balcony here. All in all, this home was designed for the serene of mind.
