This wonderful Brazilian apartment exudes and demonstrates stark Asian influences, minimalism and modernism. Plenty of natural Iight, strong horizontal lines and a neutral colour palette make this apartment one to draw plenty of inspiration from in several forms.

The Asian style on display is sleek, modern and minimal. Check out the top elements we've decided to display from this wonderful Brazilian-Asian escape…

Integrate spaces

Anyone can tell you that a key to apartment living is the integration of as many spaces as possible. This doesn't mean that every space needs to necessarily blend together or lose its unique qualities – there are plenty of ways to build sleek partitions or use furnishings.

The combination of a workspace and bedroom in this apartment is perfectly separated by an elongated window and working countertop.

Natural light is your friend

In an apartment (or any home) no matter how small, natural light will always be a benefit and create an illusion of more space. Another aspect homeowners don't consider – the more you use natural light the less you use artificial light, hence a lower electric bill!

Check out this rather small apartment space for proof of how natural light can completely transform a room.

Use sliding doors

When you're thinking of sliding doors, we want you to consider them in more than one place.  Sliding doors are great for apartment living or any type of living situation because they are minimal in their use of space and there's no worry about infringing upon other furnishings and decor.

Consider sliding doors for the patio, terrace, balcony, back exit, wardrobe doors (as seen here) and any other portals in your home!

Plan the shower

As stated before, combination spaces are best in apartments – and this doesn't necessarily mean you have to sacrifice anything! For apartment living consider a combination bath/shower to get the best of both worlds and to maximise space.

A simple vanity (reclaimed wood gives a great, modern look) a deep sink and high-end faucets and appliances polish off the bathroom perfectly.

Connect the bedroom with the bath

Here we are again connecting spaces! In smaller apartments it might be necessary to combine the bedroom and bathroom, however, for a lot of homeowners this can be concerning as access for guests also means giving access to your bedroom!

One way to combine the bedroom and bathroom while maintaining a high-level of privacy is to utilise different types of partition walls – wardrobes, bookshelves or temporary drywall structures all can help!

Know how to combine materials

Variety and appreciation of materials shouldn't be lost with apartment living, and this apartment certainly maximises the use of multiple textures, colours and decor schemes.

Sleek tiles, concrete, modern furnishings and raw wood are used in every aspect of this modern and sleek apartment, proving that your options are always open.
